Morningside Monarchs

The Morningside Monarchs is our new development/pipeline elementary and middle school program. Morningside is a neighborhood on the east side of Detroit. There are 28 high schools in Detroit but only one has a lacrosse team. Lacrosse is a growing sport but can only grow if it is tended to. Khanan had the privileged of shadowing coach Mac at Cass Tech high school. He realized how much he could give back just by witnessing this sport to these young men that look like him. 12 years ago, he was them. Falling in love with a new sport but not having all the resources to practice. The sport of lacrosse has given so much to this family. We paid our way through school with lacrosse, travelled, made friends, and created opportunities.
Bhouse would like to start small, under promise and over deliver. Our mission to start will be canvasing the middle schools and elementary schools in Morningside. Looking for students that would be interested in becoming lacrosse players. The end goal would be to start an Olympic style 6v6 format middle school league. There would be three to four schools, during the week we would practice fundamentals. Once a month we would hold a tournament/party. Throughout the year Bhouse will do sells as fundraisers, part of the profit will go to the players to get fully equipped to play. When the majority of the athletes are equipped, we will start by going to local fall and summer tournaments. When you purchase our clothes, accessories, or art you are providing an opportunity for a student that wishes to be an athlete.

2023 NAIA Nationals

Bhouse was made in the image of family; the Bodley family. Born of Christopher and Shikina are five boys. Although this is an athletic lifestyle brand about family it’s told from the perspective of the middle child (Khanan). With the help of his family and friends, the family create looks that fit multiple demographics because their diverse interest.

LMU 2018

The family has a special relationship, almost the dynamic of a team. Probably because most of them have been teammates. The 2nd oldest Brother played high school and college with the middle child. The middle child played high school and college with his twin little brothers (4th and 5th).

Masters Academy 2012

Almost all of them played college lacrosse but the oldest brother. When the family lived in central Florida football was their first love. The oldest brother was only allowed to play for a couple years. He played football in high school but ultimately chose art over athletics.

2021 conference championship

Bhouse has played with and against professional football/lacrosse players, competed at a high level, won conference championships, appeared at multiple national championships, and did it from scratch with 5 kids.

2022 conference championship

One thing that will never change is how expensive it is to compete at all of those levels. From gear, pay to play, and uniforms it all adds up. Even when coach’s let them play for free.

2023 conference championship

Bhouse is an urban development project, the families 3 goals are to provide sports and activities to communities that traditionally wouldn’t have access, attack food deserts/oases, and aid in ex-cons return to society.
